Valleyview & Another Entry

I attended an all day crop at Valleyview Public School on Saturday and I think it went pretty well. I've gone the last two years as a cropper, but this was my first as a vendor.
I definately learned what sold and what didn't so I will be travelling a lot more lightly when I do another one. This time around, I just wasn't sure what to take ... so I took a lot. Way too much.
Instead of running any classes, I decided to do make and takes.
My first kit had an add-on which included two small bottles of Shimmerz Spritz. I've found that there are still a LOT of scrappers who haven't even heard of spritzing so I thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce it.
Withough giving too much away (I'm using the technique for an custom embellishment to be included in the March kit), we made card fronts out of canvas, Shimmerz Spritz and stamping. It's fun to see the look on people's faces when they see the effect these products produce.
So a productive day all around ... the home & school association raised a lot of money for their kids, I sold more product than I thought I might, I introduced a fun technique/product to some spritzing virgins and I was able to get the word out about the store I'm going to be opening this summer.
I've also received another entry for the contest (due on the 14th!) from Melissa Buhler. I knew Melissa from another site and had thought she might have submitted a digital design when I saw her name on the e-mail. I had to really look, because her paper scrapping style is so "clean" that it almost comes across as a digital creation. Just lovely. I don't mix black & white photos with colour enough. You really focus on each photo when they're mixed like that. Must make a note to do that on an upcoming layout ;)
Thanks Melissa!

  1. LOL!! You know...I really had to push myself to scrap with paper, but I figured if it was for a contest to WIN paper...I better SCRAP it with paper! It was a good push though. :) Plus...i just got this paper pack from M's and I was dying to play with it!

Those tags looks super cute - love the colors! No idea what the paper line is though!
