April Pages from Lesley and May Peaks!

Where has April gone?  I think they cut a few days out at some point because it just flew by.

I wanted to share some pages from Lesley (made with the sold out "Handsome Fella" kit) ...

I love how Lesley took the throwaway strip from between the border stickers to use as and extra border ...

And a few peaks of May's kits ...

Just a reminder that the April Promotion is still going on ... spend $50.00 (before taxes) on scrapbooking product and receive a 20% off coupon for your next visit!

Crayola Products

NEW in the store!

Products from Crayola!

Until now, when customers came in looking for age appropriate gifts for children,
I didn't really have much to offer.

If you're looking for a gift or a great activity to take in the car or on vacation,
stop in and have a look at the flash cards, activity books and craft kits.

Do you Smash?

In the past year, Smash Books have changed the way people have been scrapbooking.
The video that introduced the product was brilliant and the products themselves have not disappointed.
I try to keep as many books and accessories in stock as possible, but it all sells very quickly ...

The latest additions to the Smash family are the Baby and Wedding themed books, as well as the new 11" x 13.5" version ...

My favorite page has to be this spread of a field of poppies.  So pretty :)

If you have any questions about Smash or want to check out the products, drop in the store to have a look.  More arriving next week :)

Visit the Smash Stories Blog to see how people are using these products!

A Fish Net Bin, a Sweater and a Card

Happy Wednesday :)
One of the comments I often receive when a customer who has never visited the store comes in for the first time is, "I didn't know you had so many different things in here!"  I think, for the most part, people assume they'll find only scrapbooking items.  Not so :)
I've been recently adding some of the vintage, one-of-kind and handmade items to the website and onto Facebook to give people a little better idea of what they would find if they came by.
One of my favorite pieces is this Vintage Fish Net Bin with Original Swish ($199.00).  It measures 38" x 28.5" and would look wonderful in front of a fireplace or window, filled with books, blankets or throw pillows.
Right now, I`ve loaded it up with some fabulous hand-knit items ...
Adorable for spring :)  All of the knit items can be easily thrown in the washing machine (cool, gentle cycle).
And because this IS a scrapbook store, I thought I`d better include at least one papercraft today ;)  A little card made with the Handsome Fella kit by Laura.
One more quick thing ... I had a few customers in this morning that had heard I was going to be closing.
Not true.
My good friends over at Under the Moon announced this week that they will be closing their doors at the end of the month.  Up The Street was mentioned in their announcement as we will be using my store as a pick up for orders placed on line.  We will also be selling some of the Under The Moon items here in the store at that time.
I am so sad that losing their storefront is necessary at this time, but know that it is only temporary.  I look forward to the time when they can re-open and hope that it is not too far off.

More projects ...

Another bright sunny day :)  I hope it's not as windy as it was yesterday.  Holy smokes!  The hydro even pooped out for a little bit in Strathroy.
I did manage to get photos taken of a few layouts yesterday though.
The first is from the "Handsome Fella" kit.
The only addition would be some Twinery twine and the "money" in the title was cut on my Silhouette.
The next two layouts are made with the "Graceful Gal" kit.  I literally snatched these photos from a customer.  I only have boys, so when I see a pink tutu, I sort of lose myself :)
I die cut the large white doily on the Silhoette and made the huge pink flower accents with the new Donna Downey/Unity stamps.
The centers of the flowers were accented with Glossy Accents and some of the new American Crafts WOW! Chunky Glitter.  I'm now sold out of the white (after people have seen it in action, they had to have it) but more is coming.
The colours in this layout are waaaaay off.  I'm not sure what is up.  It's definately much prettier IRL.
Again, just a thin line of Glossy Accents and some AC glitter across the edge of the border sticker.
And one of the Bazzill buttons (available in the store) with an alcohol ink coloured gem to accent the center of the flower.

That's it for now.  I'm hoping to maybe get to a few cards today, but you just never know ;)

A new week and some new pages!
We're midway through the month and I finally have some projects to share with you from the April kits.
Mine are still waiting for some finishing touches, but here are a few from Sarah ...

Sarah worked with the Graceful Gal side this month and as near as I can tell, she didn't add anything other than a bit of the Honeydew twine from The Twinery (available in the store by the yard).
This side has lots of pretty pink girlie colours, but the B sides of the papers are actually quite neutral ... browns, creams, etc.  You can see that Sarah's layouts don't rely too heavily on the bright pinks.
I still have a few left in the store.  Get yours today!

The Arts and Crafts House

Happy Friday All!  What a gorgeous day to kick off the weekend :)

Is anyone headed up to Kitchener this weekend to attend Scrapfest?
I've never gone and still haven't made up my mind whether or not to go tomorrow.

But if you are planning on attending, make sure you stop by Lesley's booth.
As some of you may already know, Lesley and her husband, Mark, have been working like mad to set up their new venture ...
... The Arts and Crafts House ... a weekend scrapbooking retreat located in Brantford!

Be sure to visit the website for accommodation information and their Facebook Page for updates.

If you're at Scrapfest this weekend, Lesley has a wonderful prize up for grabs ...

Lesley will also be doing a quick little make and take using some of my favorite Unity Stamps.
She may even have home baked treats to share ;)

Hope you all enjoy your weekends :)
