Summer Daydream

Here it is ... your Summer Daydream! Available in limited quantities and shipping now!
Changing things up a bit this month, the main kit is larger than it has been in the past few months and runs $54.50 ... Filled with gorgeous double-sided papers from Websters Pages, Girls Paperie, Prima and Basic Grey ...
The backs are as beautiful as the fronts ...
Luscious embellishments from Maya Road, Pink Paislee, Prima, Jenni Bowlin, Basic Grey and Zva ...
Fabulous trims from Websters Pages, Maya Road and American Crafts ...
In addition to the 12x12 sheet of Websters Pages alphabet stickers, you also receive your choice of Pink Paislee chipboard letters or Prima Shabby alphabet stickers ...
4 sheets of premium neutral cardstock are included in the kit but an extra set may be purchased for $2.50 ...
This is (was) the add-on for this month, but unfortunately has already sold out. A new benefit to purchasing an Up The Street kit is an early reveal of and the ability to purchase the new kit a few days before everyone else sees it.
Evidently, I should have done a few more of the add-on because it sold out very quickly.
I have a few of these Maya Road Canvas Pocket Binder Books available for $7.99. They measure 6 x 3 and are ridiculously cute.

That's it for this month! Look for an early reveal of the July kit later this month. We're off on our first camping trip of the summer on July 1st and I'd like to have July semi-organized before I leave.

If you have any questions about the June kit, feel free to contact me at upthestreet@isp.ca.

June Contest

With the changes I've made to the kits this month, I thought I'd add a new option to our contest too.

As in the past, you will have several options available to participate ...
... complete your layout using an Up The Street kit
... use the soft and airy colours from the June kit as your inspiration
... consider the word "change" while completing your layout (use within your title or journaling)

Please leave a comment on this post with a link to your layout (you can post it on your blog or another online gallery).
Submit as many layouts as you like. Each one will be entered into the random drawing. Submissions will be accepted until midnight June 29, 2010 (EST) and the drawing will be done June 3o, 2010.
The winner will be posted here on the blog and will receive a $30.00 credit to the Up The Street store.
* No purchase required to enter the contest ... using an Up The Street kit is just ONE of the options available :)

Happy Scrapping!

A few more from Julia ...

I said she was fast but I had no idea.
Another layout sneak ...
And while we're at it ... how about a card ...

It just makes me want to stay up late to play with paper :)

Details of the next contest will be up tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in!

Sneak Peeks from Julia

This woman works FAST! She did this the day after I gave her the kit. It is soooo beautiful. Just wait until you see the whole thing ;)

Please welcome our June Designers

Get ready for another month of fabulous inspiration from some very talented ladies.
I was so late getting my product this month that we won't have a full gallery for reveal day on June 1st, but I hope to have a few more things done myself and I think Julia has already finished one project.

Speaking of Julia, I'd like to introduce you to Julia Stainton. I came across Julia's blog and realized that she lives only 1/2 hour away from me. I love to find local kindred scrappy spirits and immediately fell in love with Julia's style ... lots of detail, lots of distressing. And because she lives so close, I was able to hand deliver her kit on Friday. No pesky mail delays to worry about :)
Hi I’m Julia Stainton. I’m excited to guest design for Up the Street and love the fabulous kits. I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago to preserve my family’s memories and have been addicted to paper crafting ever since. I love creating layouts, altered projects and cards. My style is a bit of a mix of this and that but mostly Shabby Chic. I currently design for Zva Creative & Lily Bee Design and you can find my published designs in Paper Crafts, Cards, Creating Keepsakes and other magazines. My family and I make our home in Ontario Canada and my hubby and I recently celebrated our 20th anniversary. We have five children from 19 to 5 which keep me on my toes. A stay at home mom, if I’m not crafting you can usually find me spending time with my family, reading, blogging or spending time at the beach. You can find my blog at: http://bellepapier.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/

Our second guest designer is a gal I know from an online message board. Again, her style is one that incorporates beautiful details and layers, while at the same time, remaining clean and uncluttered. I'm such a fan of Jill Cornell's and am thrilled that she is going to be with us this month.
I live in Windsor Heights, Iowa, with my husband of 7 years and our 1-year-old twin daughters. We adopted the girls into our lives and hearts when they were just days old! I have a degree and career experience in public relations and broadcasting but am now a stay-at-home mom. I have been scrapbooking and papercrafting for 7 years and have a soft, shabby chic style. I love having girls to scrapbook because it gives me an excuse to use pink, lace and ruffles! I am currently designing for GCD Studios and as a blog contributor for Crate Paper. My work has been featured in Scrapbooks Etc., Paper Crafts, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, Scrapbooking and Beyond, Paper Creations, Crafts N' Things and Simple Scrapbooks. Please stop by and visit me at my blog: http://jillcornell.blogspot.com/
Thanks for popping in. I hope to have a few more sneaks for you soon.
Have a great weekend :)

June main sneaks

Oh ... I love this kit. I played a bit last night and want to play again today. Duty calls however. Off to the post office and grocery store and to buy goldfish for my mother-in-law. Never a dull moment :)
Have a great day!

More June Peeks

Gosh it's hot. So hot. I'm moving at about 1/4 speed today. Thankfully, moving paper around doesn't require much effort.
Thought I'd share a few more sneak peeks now that everything for the kit is here.
For the main kit ...
And the add-on ...

Carman's Peonies

I think peonies have to be one of my very favorite flowers. My grandpa had huge peony bushes out in front of his house and I remember my mom cutting them for her table at the church strawberry and ham supper every June. All sorts of people have taken bits from the bushes over the years and transplanted them to their own gardens.
After he passed, and before his house was sold, I went and took some myself. There are four different varieties and they seem to bloom at slightly different times. The first one to come out each spring is the darkest. My favorite. I'm not a very good gardener. But these flowers seem to thrive when neglected. Thank goodness!
So nothing scrappy or kit related today (although June's guest designers are all lined up and waiting patiently for their kits) ... just a share of my grandpa's peonies :)

June add-on sneak

I haven't really gotten to do too much scrapping lately. But I did manage to do up a layout with the June add-on kit last night. I don't know if I should call it an add-on kit because it's really an entire kit in itself. It just works beautifully with the main kit.
This is also a sneak of the new challenge at Scrap Your CRAP that goes up on the first. That's gesso in the background in case you're trying to figure it out ;)
Happy Sunday!

June's first sneak!

Well ... it's raining. And chilly. And the kids are making me a little cross-eyed. And it's only 9am. Does not bode well for the rest of the weekend.
However. A little, teeny, tiny sneak of what's going on for the June kit ....
The rest of the product has been shipped and will be here next week. Yay! I'm so jazzed for this month. Hope you will be too :)
Stay dry ...
Tara

June Kit Update

Hi guys! We're just going into a holiday weekend here in Canada. What a lot of people like to call the May Two Four Weekend (due to the copious amount of beer consumed over the three days), but I still say the Victoria Day Weekend (because that's what it is). No big plans here. I'm going to head out shortly to hit some yard sales ... find some things for the Piggy Back Shack (Dave's new cabin) and try to find some lovelies for the store. Speaking of the store ... Move In Day is going to be here before I know it. We're still looking at August 1st so that's only a little over two months away. Eeeee!
I just wanted to give a little update about the June kit in case anyone has been up at nights wondering. Not likely, but you just never know ;)
I'm still waiting on product to arrive and a few of the things I wanted are not available. So I've been making substitutions and additions but the feel of the kit will still be what I was wanting to begin with.
It's packed full of beautiful papers and embellishments. I increased the amount of embellishments in this one because ... well ... just because. As a result, it's a little more expensive. I found that a lot of people were buying the main kit, as well as one or both add-ons, so I'm going to try out a larger kit and offer only one add-on this time around to see if it's a better "fit".
Check back for sneak peeks this weekend. I hope to start working with what I've got to give you a little "taste".
In the meantime, go outside and enjoy the weather. And tip back a few while you're out there. You're just not Canadian if you don't ;)

May Layout Contest Winner

Good morning everyone!
My kids all spent the night at my mom's last night, so I'm on my way out to get them but I wanted to announce the winner before the day got away from me.
I loved that so many of you submitted multiple layouts. It's great to see different interpretations on the same challenge. And it seems to have paid off for one of you.
The random number chosen was 5 and going by the order in which the comments were left, the winner is ...

scrappin_in_AK!

Congratulations! You have won the $30 credit to the Up The Street store! The next kit won't be revealed until June 1st, so you're welcome to wait until then to use it. Please contact me at upthestreet@isp.ca when you're ready to redeem your prize :)

I'm going to wait until the 1st to announce the next contest so be sure to check back then for the details.
Have a great weekend,
Tara :)

May Layout Contest Reminder

Hey all!
I have been a lazy, lazy blogger this month. I also haven't been doing a lot of scrapping lately. I'm at that in-between-months stage where I have some of the product for the next kit, but not enough to get going on layouts. It's killing me because now that things have started to arrive, I'm getting more and more excited about this next kit.
I'm going to be going to a 1st of the month reveal, so the next kit will actually be available June 1st rather than May 15th. And the June kit will be slightly larger than normal. I found that this past month, most of the people who bought the main kit, also bought both add-ons. It makes me think that a larger kit might be a better way to go.
Funnily enough, I have more of my July kit items than June kit items at this point. So I may even switch them around if my June backordered items don't arrive in the next little while. No biggie.
It's rainy and gloomy today and I have a bit of a cold starting. Going to go swallow a handful of vitamins and see if I can cut it off at the pass. I used to swear that a shot of whiskey would blast any cold away, but I think it's a little early in the morning to be throwing back booze. Does it count if you're drinking for medicinal purposes? Boo.
Anywho ... I hope the sun is shining where you are today :)

And a quick reminder, if you haven't commented on this post with a link to your contest layout, make sure you get to it by tomorrow ;)
