Baby Layouts

The Websters Pages Lulluby Lane papers that come in the June kit are just perfect for baby layouts. I'm typically not a real "theme-y" kinda gal, so I loved that these papers were gender neutral and not overly "cute". They have more of a timeless, vintage feel and could be used for many other projects that aren't baby related.
Julia makes use of the patterned paper by cutting the sides to frame her cardstock background and saving the middle bit for another time. Notice how she fussy cuts along the right-hand side of the image to the left.
The other technique she used on this layout that really stretches your supplies, is that she cut one of the decorate envelopes in two, to frame her grouping from above and below. Using twine to join the two is a really nice effect.
Make your own custom monogram tag by simply punching a circle from a scrap of paper and adding an initial. I'd have to ask, but it looks as if Julia spread a layer of Rock Candy Crackle Pain over the finished tag.
The Prima letters blend in beautifully with the colour palette of this layout.
The twine used on the buttons comes with your kit packaging. You can use it as is, or seperate the strands for less bulk.
I'm a sucker for patterned paper with clouds. Always have been. Always will be. I used the backside of one of the Websters sheets for my layout.
Little cluster of leaves and embellishments behind a torn section in the top corner.
A strip of Hambly transparency crumpled and attached to the background using numerous staples. Then hide the staples with trim ;)
You get so used to using chipboard letters that sometimes a regular ol' letter sticker seems a little flat. Coat with a layer of Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents to give them a little shine and dimension.

I wanted to highlight the images in the background without taking focus away from my photo. All I did was quickly go over them with Rock Candy Distress Stickles. Definately a favorite product of mine. In fact, I really need to replenish my supply because this layout used up all but a drop of my well-used bottle.

Those are a few ideas to use when completing your baby layouts. I've had that photo of Paul laying around for 4 years now ... just waiting for the right supplies.

There are still a few June kits left in the store :)
