New Challenge ... Misting
So pull out your Tattered Angels, Shimmerz or Studio Calico mists and get busy.
Use several colours to completely cover you background ...

Mask off a section to create a focal point for your photo ...
Give your white flower a quick spritz for a little added interest ...

Or completely saturate your white flower to create a unique embellishment that no longer resembles a flower ...
A new favorite around here ... the white Mister Huey from Studio Calico ...

Just splatter a few drops here and there ...
Spray a piece of sticky back canvas for the background of a card ...

This week's challenge ...
It still brings tears to my eyes. So don't overthink it ... just grab your camera and snap away. Here's Mandy's ...
Post your layouts to the Up The Street Flickr Gallery by midnight April 30th EST. Visit the website for the other challenges we've posted this month.Monday, April 4, 2011
New Challenge from Mandy
One of my favorite photo sizes to scrap is 8x12. I love that ginormous picture that takes up almost the whole page. This month, two of Mandy's layouts used these enlarged photos. This first one is just stunning. And this one is trimmed down to 6x12, which makes for a truly interesting compostion. I will definately be trying this size in the future.
After seeing Mandy's layouts, I realized that it had been quite some time since I'd done an enlarged photo. I just had to do one with the new Studio Calico paper and rub-ons.
Your newest challenge is create a layout using a photo larger than 5x7 ... go with an 8x10, 8x12 or come up with a custom size like Mandy did with her 6x12. Upload your project to the Up The Street Flickr Gallery and be sure to tag it with "MarchContest" before April 30th midnight EST for your chance at a $30.00 credit to the store (shipping not included). New projects only please :) Visit the website for the other challenges and enter as often as you like.

New Challenge ... Die Cuts Done Different
Rather than using the buttons on their own, Julia has left them on their packaging card for dramatic effect. It's wonderful when the packaging is too pretty to throw away :)
A light misting of ink to coordinate the flower ...
Also, note that Julia has sanded all of her edges. I always do the edges of my photos, but usually reach for my distressing tool to rough up my patterned papers and die cuts. I love how the sanded edges give a softer touch.
As always, upload your finished projects to the Up The Street Flickr Gallery and be sure to tag your images with "MarchContest" for your chance at wining a $30.00 credit to the store. Visit the website for more information.Sunday, March 6, 2011
March Contest
While we're waiting for new kits, why don't we work on new challenge?
This week's challenge is an Either, Or or Both situation.
Use either the prompt ... "waiting" (in your title, in your journaling, as your subject),
or the product ... "old" (choose some product you've had for awhile now and have just been waiting for the right opportunity to use it)
or both ... the prompt and the product.
You have until March 31st (midnight EST) to upload your project to the Up The Street Flickr Gallery. Remember to tag your photo with "MarchContest" so that it will be included in the random drawing done on April 1st for a $30.00 gift certificate to the store.
Look for another challenge next week :)
