Here we are ... October 1st, 2012. Two years ago today, I opened the doors to Up The Street's storefront. I've met some wonderful people and learned a lot about running a small retail business.
But one of my favorite things about the business, is still putting together and working with the monthly kits. I've been extremely fortunate to have wonderful women designing with my kits month after month, and today is a little bittersweet in that area. Although I absolutely adore this month's kits (and what I've already seen from
Sarah is fantastic), I'm sorry to tell you all that you won't see any designs this month from
Lesley. Lesley has started back to work full time, while still running her
lovely scrapbook retreat, serving on several manufacture design teams (
did you see her news about guest designing for Faber-Castell?) and raising a family. I'm hoping that she might join us occasionally in the future, but for right now she has had to step back from designing for Up The Street. So instead of "so long", we'll say "see you soon Lesley" and best of luck with everything over the next little while :)
On to the kits ...
"A Walk in the Park" features a few new lines that I couldn't wait to work with ... October Afternoon "Woodland Park" and Echo Park "For The Record 2".
Lots of blues and greens ... perfect for those summer photos just waiting to be scrapped.
Jenni Bowlin tags, Prima Resist Canvas Shapes, Prima flowers ...
May Arts trim and a few gold leaf sequins to include a taste of fall :)
The second side this month has more of an autumn vibe to it.
"Crisp Fall Air" contains papers and embellishments from Studio Calico "Elementary" and American Crafts "Ready Set Go".
I love that I can still get my Sassafras fix through Studio Calico :)
Lot of "bits" in this month's kit ... Ready Set Go die cuts, Studio Calico Wood Veneer Cameras, Want 2 Scrap rhinestones, Bazzill die cut cards and envelopes and some more May Arts trim. Oh ... and mistable Thickers.
Both are extremely easy to work with and make for some fast layouts. Get yours on the
website or by reserving them at the store :)
