Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

The weather is so beautiful today that I don't know how many scrappers around here will actually be scrapbooking though. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of outside work being done.
I still have to get a few Mother's Day cards done myself yet today. If you're in the same boat as I am, and are feeling "stuck" for ideas, have a look at what Heather and Lesley have created with the May kits.

Lesley's aren't specific to Mother's Day, but you could certainly customize them to fit your purpose. But back to NSD ... it seems like a good excuse to do a giveaway. Leave a comment on this post as to what you're doing for NSD and/or Mother's Day and I'll add your name to the instore drawing for a kit of your choosing from March or May. I'll draw a name on Monday to give everyone a chance to enter :)
Now off to get those cards done ....

Welcome!

If you've found your way here from the Cosmo Cricket blog, you are probably already aware that Up The Street's March kit features lots of Cosmo Cricket goodies.

I love Cosmo Cricket products and hoard them like nobody's business. The new releases are definately some of my favorites. While I have Joyride (with a splash of Nutmeg) in the March kit, you will find lots of Garden Variety when the April kit is revealed.
A little background on Up The Street ...
I've been wanting to start a kit club for the last few years. It was love at first sight when I first discovered the whole concept and was lucky enough to serve as a design team member for a few clubs. Until now, I haven't felt like I had the time to commit to creating the kits I love so much. With our youngest boy starting school in the fall, I will be opening a store in Strathroy, Ontario. I knew I wanted to have something a little different from the typical scrapbook store so I will also have old fashioned candy and upcycled crafts and furniture. And while I've found the perfect retail space, it won't be available until late summer. I'm so anxious to get in and get going, but I think it's probably for the best because I have the coming months to concentrate on developing my kit club's style and finding the perfect design team.
I am currently looking for guest designers to feature for the next few months and have listed a call here.
Also on the books for this month is a layout contest. I shouldn't really say "contest" because I don't pick my favorite as the winner. It's a random draw done on April 15th with the April kit as the prize.
At present, Up The Street doesn't offer subscriptions and probably won't unless there are requests. Although I have been purchasing kits for years, I have only ever subscribed to two kit clubs. I just think that every dollar counts these days and that, as a customer, I would hate to be obligated to purchase a kit that didn't speak to me. In fact, every decision I've made concerning these kits have been made as someone who loves to buy kits rather than someone selling them. My favorite kits have always been those that have different manufacturers with a good selection of embellishments, as well as something unique. In the March kit, I handmade the tags, hunted through antique stores for buttons and found trim and fabric that you wouldn't find in an ordinary scrapbook store.
In order to be entered into a drawing for your choice of one of Up The Street's main kits (February, March or April's which will be released on the 15th), please leave a comment on this post before Sunday, March 28th at 12:00pm midnight EST. I will do the drawing and announce the winner on Monday morning (March 29th). For a second change to win a March kit, featuring Cosmo Cricket's Joyride, leave a comment on Cosmo Cricket's blog too!
Thanks so much for dropping by. Please have a look around, visit the store, look through the gallery and drop back on April 15th for the reveal of the April kit :)

Follow Me :)

I'm so excited to get going with these kits and the waiting is very nearly killing me. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. Seriously.
It seemed like the perfect time for a giveaway. I know I'm not alone when I say that I'm loving kraft these days. The Life Stories lines from MME made me quiver when I saw them. I mean ... I liked them when I saw the photos but I LOVED them when I got them in my hands. Lovely designs printed on heavyweight kraft cardstock (sidenote ... I cannot stand flimsy paper).
I'm also including a package of the seriously cute Maya Road Square Kraft Envelopes. The little wee ones are so sweet you'll want to eat 'em. I had intended to use these in the first kit, but they only sent me one (insert growl here).
Oh yeah ... and a package of the new line of Pearls & Crystals from Prima. Really, really pretty.

So that's the prize. If you'd like to be entered in the drawing, just sign up to be a Follower. Pretty simple ... right? And if you'd like to double your chances of winning, leave a comment telling me what paper lines and products you'd like to see in an upcoming kit. I've got the next few months covered, but I'd love to know what y'all are crushing on.

I'll draw the winner's name next Sunday ... so lots of time to mention it to your friends.
That's two posts in one day. I may just have sprained something :P
