"Brrrrr"

A.K.A. ... "How I'm Feeling Today". Good grief. Warmish one day ... frigid the next. No comments from the Peanut Gallery please. I'm talking about the weather.
On to Julia's beautiful layout ...
I'm just smitten with the We R Memory Keepers' Merry January line. WRMK seems to be able to pick colour palettes that no one else is really doing at the moment so they really catch your eye when looking through current product.
And although there are oodles and smoodles of embellishments in the January Kit, I love how adding a few items from your stash can finish off an otherwise gorgeous layout. A beautiful little Maya Road doily transparency from the November kit and a few Maya Road chipboard snowflakes contribute to the icy feeling of this layout.
The Maya Road chandelier trinket bead resembles a perfect little icicle.
Looking back over this layout, the gorgeous finishing details seem to be predominently Maya Road. They're revealing all of the new CHA goodies on their blog this week. I already see some things that will HAVE to go into an upcoming kit or two ;)
I'd love to hear what you absolutely, positively must have from the new releases.

KI Memories Calendar Paper

Is it spring yet? I've had about enough of the snow already. Brrr.
On to happier things ... like scrapbook paper :)
One of the specialty papers that came in the Ice Cold kit this month is the Sew Cute KI Memories paper. The thin black outline on the white section of the paper is stitched (hence the "Sew" in "Sew Cute").
Julia highlighted the grid pattern on the background by using small scraps of paper in random spots and tied in the calendar "theme" with her journaling ...

Mandy went another route by turning it on it's side and just treating it as a photo matte on a pieced background ...
Look for another sheet of this fun paper in the upcoming February kit, as well as a few other styles in the store.

Adore

It's been kind of quiet here at the store since New Year's. Lots of rearranging of furniture, cleaning, planning and organizing for the next few months going on.
Most of the February kit is here ... just waiting for a few items so that I can get them together. It's hard to believe that my first kit went out in February last year. To mark the anniversary of Up the Street kits, we're going to change things up a bit. After several requests from customers, I've decided to switch the format to a two-sided kit. Instead of one monster of a kit, there will be two seperate kits that each have a different feel, but can be very easily mixed together. Maybe a few sneak peaks are in order? Not today :) Check back in a few days though.
For now ... here is a layout from Mandy using the January kit ...
There are so many fun little things in this kit, but I'm always a sucker for layered chipboard. It takes all the work out of having to come up with a title.
Mandy has a serious addiction to her punches. But I'm not planning an intervention any time soon ;)
Tomorrow is a PD day for the kids, so I think I'll enjoy the quiet moments I can find today. Enjoy your quiet moments too :)

Better late than never ...

I'm a few days late getting up the January kit, but here it is ...
Lots of icy colours to tackle those winter photos, along with some sweet sentiments to get you in the mood for Valentine's Day ...
Patterned papers from We R Memory Keepers Merry January and Basic Grey Curio ...
Specialty papers from Coredinations and KI Memories ...
Embellishments from American Crafts, Tattered Angels, Maya Road, We R Memorie Keepers, KI Memories, Zva and trims from Prima ...
Also a die cut snowman (from sticky-back canvas), a full bottle of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Gumdrop and a Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber in Pearl.
Very limited quantities this month, so don't wait to get yours.
Swing by the gallery to see what Julia and Mandy have already done with the kit.
